The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) was awarded the certificate of the Best Government Entity -Large Category- at the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP) in a special ceremony which was held at the Emirates Palace Hotel on Wednesday.

Mr. Thabit Al-Abdessalaam, Director of Biodiversity Sector- Marine Environment at EAD was also awarded the prize for the Excellent Government Employee in the Technical field. In addition, EAD’s project on Strategic Water Reserves was awarded the prize for the Excellent Managerial Project.

Mr. Majid Al Mansouri, EAD’s Secretary General, expressed his great pride in winning the award which he said “it represents a step forward in our mission to establish distinct criteria for the development of the environment in accordance with Abu Dhabi Government vision”. “It is no doubt a great honor for EAD to be awarded as the Best Government Entity for Large Category” he added.

Al Mansouri said “We also regard the nomination as an immense responsibility to continue meeting the ambitious strategy of the Government of Abu Dhabi to be "among the best five governments in the world".

He pointed out that the success of EAD would not have been possible without the guidance and support of H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of EAD as well as H.E Mohammed Al Bowardi, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Managing Director of EAD. He also thanked the ADAEP organizers as well as all EAD staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the years.
