Aldar Properties, Abu Dhabi's leading listed property development, investment, and management company, partnered with Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), Abu Dhabi’s leading water and electricity distribution and supply company on Saturday 28 March to celebrate Earth Hour 2015. The initiatives were aimed at bringing the Abu Dhabi community together in a host of engaging, complimentary activities designed to underline the importance of protecting the planet for a greener future.
Events were held in a number of Aldar developments around the city from 19:30 – 22:00 and were attended by thousands of people.
In the week leading up to Earth Hour, giant 3D light bulbs were installed in Aldar’s HQ and flagship developments, accompanied with an informative campaign on how to make the switch to a more efficient lifestyle. Earth Hour itself was marked with a number of events at Al Raha Beach, Yas Mall and WTC Mall and included an evening filled with children’s storytelling and live musical and dance performances. Each event ended with the annual hour of darkness at 20:30, in line with the global Earth Hour initiative.
Talal Al Dhiyebi, Chief Development Officer at Aldar Properties, said PSJC said: “We are always pleased to see our communities coming together and that the events we organise work well for all family members. Earth Hour 2015 was a fun and interactive way of bringing together the people of Abu Dhabi at Aldar communities to celebrate such an important initiative. Aldar is committed to working towards a more sustainable future for residents and visitors and was pleased to lead the way in inspiring individuals to play their own role.”
