The Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department at Abu Dhabi Police was crowned champion of the Tug of War tournament. The Emergency and Public Safety Department came in second place, followed by the Police Schools Department in third place.
While attending the coronation of the winning team of the championship, Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department, said that sports are an essential element of police work, as sporting activities enhance the physical, mental and psychological capabilities of police staff members.
For his part, Colonel Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, noted that tournaments and sports activities play an important role in developing the abilities of police staff members, as this positively reflects in police and security work.
The two-day Tug of War tournament is part of the 2015 sports activities program organized by the Sports Activity Section at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. A total of 11 departments from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters took part in the tournament, which was held on the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
The ceremony was attended by Captain Jamal Al Saadi, Chief of the Sports Activity Section and Captain Saif Al Dhaheri, from the Sports Activity Section.
