Ethical Investment in a Sustainable Planet is one of the topics to be discussed at the Green Cities Investment Summit which will be held on 30th March at the Beach Rotana, Abu Dhabi.
The summit, which is expected to attract 150 participants, will "explore and generate ideas for a consistent vision and collaborative pathway towards a sustainable future," said the Conference Chief Executive Officer, Ionna Eliot.
The participants hail from various backgrounds, including those of renewable energy, academia, the public sector and representatives of real estate, construction and infrastructure companies.
The topic, "Ethical Investment in a Sustainable Planet", will be presented by Hatem Hosny from Sankari Investments.
"Ethical Investment in a Sustainable Planet widens and extends this vision by recognising the moral obligation to preserve the planet for future generations," said the Conference Chair, Dr. Joe Pilotta, who will present a paper entitled, "Building Green and Blue Municipalities".
Ionna Eliot said that the platform provides an opportunity for planners and developers to share ideas on how to "reduce resource consumption of new and existing cities, but at the same time make them more resilient in the face of climate change, so that they are healthier and more productive places to live and work."
Several papers will be presented, including, "Sustainability in the UAE", by the former UNDP official, Dr. Ali Awadh Salem Al Amoudi. Two scholars from Harvard and Oxford will also talk about sustainable architecture and solar outlook in the GCC by Dr. Mathew Elliot and Imtiaz Mahtab respectively.
