The GCC Traffic Week activities held at Al Ruwais Mall in the Western Region, witnessed a significant audience turnout of companies, schools, and institutions that availed of the different outreach programs provided via the awareness raising exhibition. The exhibition aims at boosting prevention awareness, implementing modern concepts of education and interactive teaching methods that are in accordance with the most advanced international awareness raising standards.
Lieutenant Colonel Talal Rashed Jaman, Traffic Control Branch Manager at the Peripheral Regions Traffic Department, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, officially inaugurated the GCC Traffic Week events in the Western Region under the slogan “Your Choice Determines Your Destiny”. He highlighted the efforts exerted in order to maintain traffic safety and reduce all the causes leading to traffic accidents.
Lieutenant Colonel Jaman noted that several entities, including Emirates Transport; the College of Technology; and oil companies took part in the awareness raising exhibition in order to promote the traffic safety culture. School students also participated in the exhibition with musical and theatrical performances, poem recitations, and theater plays that are inspired by the theme of traffic safety. He added: “The key objective of these activities is to motivate students to further develop their creative ideas, so as to contribute to opening up ‘new doors’ to support the current efforts to reduce traffic accidents.”
