"My Safety...My Protection" Educational Program For Students Of Al Nahda Schools In Abu Dhabi
(5 March 2015)

The Relations and Guidance Section at the Police College recently implemented “My Safety…My Protection”, an educational awareness program for students of the Al Nahda National Schools, in collaboration with the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, the K9 Security Inspection Department, and the Police Music Band.

In line with the approach aimed at enhancing communication and promoting closer ties amongst various government sectors, most particularly the educational sector, a delegation from the Police College headed by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Butti Al Shamesi, Chief of Relations and Guidance Section, visited the Al Nahda National Schools in Abu Dhabi.

The program aims to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry and to gain the public's confidence through effective and engaging police services. Through the program, police entities will promote the security and safety for students of all ages by spreading awareness.

The program commenced with the UAE national anthem and was followed by a speech delivered in the school yard to the group of co-ed students of various grades. The speech, given by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Butti Al Shamesi, Chief of Relations and Guidance Section at the College, highlighted the tasks, duties, and services that the police institutions carry out in order to support the wellbeing of the community.

Members of the K9 Security Inspection Department at Abu Dhabi Police acquainted the students with their efforts made to promote security and safety through a performance that was met with energetic applause.  The ADP Traffic and Patrols Directorate used a motorcycle in their presentation, and educated the students regarding the most important steps to be followed alongside the ways to avoid traffic accidents and preserve the lives and the safety of community members.

For her part, Sandra Rini Zaher, Director of Al Nahda National Schools, expressed her thanks to the Police College for this initiative. Zaher said she considers this initiative to be one of the most important community-based initiatives that serves students through service and provides the essential security-related information that all community members need.

Upon conclusion of the program, gifts were distributed to the students.
