As part of its priority to promote a socially responsible corporate culture among its staff, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) hosted a seminar titled ‘The Added Value of Social Responsibility’.
Presented by Dr Emad Sa’ad, leading sustainability and social responsibility consultant and Chairman of Naya Group for Excellence, the session was held at the ADFD headquarters and drew the participation of ADFD’s heads of departments and employees.
Highlighting the importance of corporate social responsibility, Dr Emad Sa’ad underlined the principles, standards and impact of promoting and enhancing transparency within organizations. He also pointed out that socially-responsible practices are important prerequisites for sustainable development and said the public and private sectors have a shared mandate to create positive opportunities for the community. He added such a culture would establish a solid foundation for the promotion of social responsibility among various segments of society.
Salem Saeedan Al Rashidi, Director of Support Services at ADFD, said: “At ADFD, it is an important priority to ensure that all employees understand best practices in social responsibility and integrate them into our corporate and community culture. We also believe that we have a responsibility to help our employees build socially-responsible relationships with all target groups. Towards this goal, we host periodic workshops to equip our staff with specialized skills and knowledge to help them implement our social responsibility strategic initiatives that are aligned with the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.”
In its efforts to apply the principles of social responsibility across all operational activities, ADFD prioritizes the environmental, social and economic impact of projects while reviewing and financing development projects in emerging countries.
