The General Secretariat of the Arab Producers Union (an observer member in the Council of Arab Ministers of Information under the umbrella of League of Arab States) honored the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior during the “Thank You UAE” event dedicated to recognize the UAE media. The event was held yesterday (Wednesday) at the Egypt University for Science and Technology’ Theatre in the 6th of October City in Cairo. The event was attended by Dr. Maitha Salem Al Shamesi, Chairwoman of the Marriage Fund; DR. Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, Director General of Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research; Jaber Asfour Egyptian Minister of Culture; Dr. Ibrahim Abu Zekri, Head of the Arab Producers Union; along with a number of elite Egyptian artists, and media persons in the UAE and the Arab world.
While honoring the icons of UAE media, the Egyptian Minister of Culture Jaber Asfour commended the role of UAE media in conveying the facts in a transparent and authentic manner making it a symbol for the Arab and international media. The audience of the cultural, diplomatic and artistic communities in Egypt also commended the efficiency and professionalism of security media and its speed in conveying events with high levels of professionalism.
The event witnessed the demonstration of the Operetta titled “Thank You UAE” performed by renowned Egyptian singer Ehab Tawfiq along with a number of other Egyptian renowned artists.
It’s worth noting that during the Cairo Artwork and Media Mondial 2014 organized last November it was announced that the 25th of February will be dedicated to recognize the UAE Media under the title “Thank You UAE.” The Security Media was chosen as one of the UAE media outlets that affected the media work and civil society in the UAE. It also contributed in promoting and deepening the UAE-Egypt relations.
