The Abu Dhabi Swimming Festival by Daman’s ActiveLife is set to take place this weekend, attracting hundreds of participants to the Emirates Palace beach. Organised by Professional Sports Group in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the event is a mass-participation swimming event for the entire community, with something for everyone. In a bid to encourage the next generation of swimmers, kid’s places are entirely free. Sponsored by ActiveLife by Daman, it aims to attract amateur swimmers from all over the UAE, increasing awareness of fitness within the community and safety in the water. The event offers a choice of disciplines, for individuals, families and teams from the age of 8+. These distances are accessible for all swimming abilities, including three Junior Splash Dash’s (100m, 300m, and 500m), parent and child relays, the Splash Dash (800m), and the Abu Dhabi Mile event. The event has gained support from a number of Olympic athletes, including Chad Le Clos, the Al Jasmi brothers, and ActiveLife by Daman’s ambassador Omar Nour, who will all be at Emirates Palace on the day.
