Connoisseurs of fine food can experience a journey around the world this week as Gourmet Abu Dhabi, part of this year’s Abu Dhabi Food Festival, embarks on an odyssey of tastes and flavours across the capital.

The 10-day gastronomic extravaganza features a star-studded cast of Michelin-star chefs and special guests, master classes, industry insights from hospitality experts, and gourmet dinners hosted by the UAE capital’s top restaurants and hotels.

Residents and visitors discover delicacies from across Europe, including regional specialties from Italy, France and Sweden before exploring Arabian treats, the spicier tastes from India’s best cuisine, delectable dishes from South East Asia and exemplary recipes from continents further afield cooked by an international line-up of chefs.

For this year’s Gourmet Abu Dhabi, The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa is holding a family brunch dedicated to the flavours and tastes of Italy at its restaurant Sacci, under Executive Chef David Contreras.

“Italy is synonymous with excellent food and we intend to offer our guests a real insight into Italian cuisine for the whole family. The most popular dishes will be complemented by regional specialties, which are prepared using the freshest ingredients imported from Florence,” said Chef Conteras.

“We wanted to make sure all family members, both young and old, can come and enjoy Gourmet Abu Dhabi with us as sitting down and eating together is a vital part of family life, particularly in Italy.”

Gourmet Abu Dhabi, running until February 21st, is just one course offered during this year’s emirate-wide Abu Dhabi Food Festival, with Emirati Kitchen and Street Feast adding to the banquet which is being presented by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi).
