Abu Dhabi to host 300 leading scientists to discuss ways to address famine, malnutrition worldwide

The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) today announced that the next session of the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture 2015 will host 300 top scientists and experts from 71 countries to discuss ways to tackle world's hunger and malnutrition challenges amid diminishing resources and climate change.

The second edition of the forum, which will be held in Abu Dhabi, will run from March 09-11, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Chairman of the ADFCA. During the forum, the leading scientists will demonstrate areas where sustainable and smart agriculture can be practised. It is also an appropriate platform for exchanging views with local experts on future of food production and security.

Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, Director of Communication and Community Service at the ADFCA, Chairman of the Organising Committee of forum, said, "We are proud to hold such an international event, a move which reflects the keenness of the leadership to encourage innovation in all walks of life, especially in the strategic area of agriculture." He added that the ADFCA, in line with the "Innovation Year" initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and follow up of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, takes interest in this forum in order to highlight the international agricultural innovation efforts.
