The Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department was crowned champion of the ADP Fitness Challenge Championship after completing the course in 5 minutes and 51 seconds. The Western Region Police Directorate came in second place with a one second difference, followed by the Police Schools Department in third place in 5 minutes and 56 seconds.
The championship, which is a part of the 2015 sports activities program at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, was organized by the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development, represented by the Sports Activity Section. A total of 20 departments took part in the championship, which was held on Tuesday at the Police College.
Colonel Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, said that the Open Fitness Challenge Championship is one of the most powerful athletic events, which focus on boosting the fitness and skills of police staff members, as they need to be physically fit and healthy in order to carry out the challenging tasks of police work; and to practice sports in general.
The championship was attended by Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager; and Captain Saif Al Dhaheri, from the Sports Activity Section.
