The Police Schools Department at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters secured first place at the Women's Road Race. The Department of Community Police and the Emergency and Public Safety Department at the Directorate General of Central Operation ranked second and third respectively.
A total of 200 female participants from Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ various departments participated in the race that was organized by the Sports Activities Section at the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate General. The race is a part of the sports activities program for the 2015 season, and took place at Al Khalidiya Park in Abu Dhabi.
In the singles’ race, results were as follows: Munira Saleh from the ICT Department secured first place, while Reem Al Hassani from the Western Region Police Directorate and Maithaa Saeed from the Police Schools Department took second and third places respectively.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General at the Ministry of Interior, said that the police leadership dedicates significant attention to sports activities for their positive impact on boosting job performance, excellence and creativity; in addition to their important role in enhancing physical fitness.
The Open Road Race Championship for Women witnessed a wide participation and significant attention from female staff members of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. The championship was attended by Major Mohammed Al Falahi, Chief of the Sports Activity Section, and Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager.
