His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre, and Osama Samra, Director of Sharjah Media Centre, will headline the event. Ali Jaber, Group TV Director – MBC, Dean of Mohammed bin Rashid School of Communication, AUD, will share insights of his experience at the previous editions of IGCF and the Sharjah Government Communication Award (GCA).
Speaking ahead of the event, Osama Samra, Director of Sharjah Media Centre, said: "As Sharjah gears up to host yet another outcome-driven International Government Communication Forum, Sharjah Media Centre is keen to share details of the agenda as well as our strategic plans for the year ahead.
“The gala dinner will serve as an ideal platform to respond to queries relevant to IGCF and gain feedback on the centre's activities and quality of events hosted. The social event will also provide an opportunity to members of the media to meet and interact with stakeholders from government communication departments in an informal setting.”
Samra added: “IGCF continues to expand every year with an increase of nearly 20% annually in the number of participants from local and regional government and media organisations. This places a great responsibility on an event of this calibre to develop new mechanisms to support our stakeholders’ work and ensure the forum remains truly relevant to the evolving communications landscape.”
Launched in 2012 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the International Government Commication Forum is a unique platform that articulates Sharjah Media Centre’s efforts to shape and enhance government communication mechanisms for the long term benefit of government institutions in the UAE and the wider region.
