Image Nation announced today that it has wrapped production on ‘Zinzana’, a psychological thriller directed by Emirati Majid Al Ansari.
The up and coming filmmaker, who has worked on all of Image Nation’s local feature films including Ali Mostafa’s recently released ‘From A to B’, just finished directing his first feature-length film for the company that helped launch his career.
“From an early age I was always passionate about films and dreamed about directing my own movies. I had no doubt that Image Nation would help pave the way for my career but I am overwhelmed with the support I have received from the company and my colleagues.” said Majid. “I want to thank Image Nation for believing in me and supporting me wholeheartedly in my career.”
Majid’s film career started out when he joined Image Nation as an intern four years ago. In his time with the company, he worked on a number of well-known titles, including the company’s first Emirati film ‘Sea Shadow’ and had a stint as an intern at Participant Media in Hollywood, one of Image Nation’s international partners.

‘Zinzana’, described as a psychological thriller set in a prison, was filmed in Jordan. The cast includes Arab stars Saleh Bakri (‘Salvo’, ‘The Time That Remains’), Ali Suliman (‘Paradise Now’), renowned Emirati actors Ali Al Jabri and Mansoor Al Feeli, Saudi actress Ahd (‘Wadjda’), renowned Kuwaiti actress Yasah and Eyad Hurani (‘Omar’).

Twenty-seven year old Majid’s first sci-fi short film, ‘Intruder!’ won a Golden Palm award at the Mexico International Film festival in 2012, and screened at numerous festivals around the globe.
'Zinzana' producer Rami Yasin said of Majid: ‘After working with Majid on Sea Shadow and following his career for the last four years, I accepted the offer to produce his directorial debut without hesitation.
‘I can tell that my instincts about him were right. He's a gifted storyteller with a unique mindset and a wonderful collaborative spirit.’
Principal photography on ‘Zinzana’ finished in mid-December. Post Production will take place at Optix Studio in Dubai.
