On Sunday, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, inaugurated the Center for Passenger Information Pre-inquiries at the Abu Dhabi Airport.

The inauguration was attended by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Emirates Group; Sheikh Khalid Bin Essam Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Civil Aviation; and Engr. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Civil Aviation.

The ceremony was also attended by Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Major General Mohammed Khalfan Matar Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Resources and Support Services; and a number of additional senior officers and heads of federal and local departments in the UAE.

The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, followed by a brief prepared for His Highness the Minister of Interior regarding the system for the Center for Passenger Information Pre-inquiries. The brief was presented by Laila Al Muhairi, Assistant Director General of Strategy & International Affairs, and the Executive Director of the Center.

During the brief, Al Muhairi explained the benefits of the system and its role in promoting national security, protecting the vital interests of passengers and citizens, and in facilitating their transport. She also highlighted the most important inputs and outputs of the system and the strategic partners and beneficiaries. Al Muhairi pointed out the significance of the Center’s achievements, as it had been built and activated within two years. His Highness the Minister of Interior then viewed a documentary depicting the work conducted by the team in order to complete the system.

His Highness, along with the attendees, toured the Center’s operation room and reviewed its operations.
