Abu Dhabi Police Call Upon The Public Not To Crowd Near Accident Sites
(10 January 2015)

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Al Ameri, Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, called upon the public not to crowd near accident sites in order to ensure everyone’s safety. He said that such objectionable negative behavior, is commonly observed as soon any type of accident occurs.

These remarks will be included in the radio address by the Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, which will be broadcasted live on Sunday. It falls in line with the ‘Security Glances’ Campaign organized by the Radio Branch at the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Lt. Colonel Al Ameri said that crowding near accident sites is deemed as a negative disruptive habit, which may impede traffic and prevent rescue, ambulance and firefighting teams from carrying out their duties. “This is an unacceptable behavior that reflects a lack of awareness among community members who impede the efforts to help the injured in a timely manner,” he continued.

Lt. Colonel Al Ameri added that despite the repeated calls urging community members not to crowd near accident sites, some still insist on doing so. This, in turn, leads to further human and material losses caused by accidents. In conclusion, he expressed hope that such unacceptable behavior is completely eradicated from society, and praised the unwavering cooperation with the policing bodies.
