The Transport and Workshops Department and the Medical Services Department, affiliated to the Directorate General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ), have received the ISO 14001 certification for Environment Management System and the OHSAS 18001 certification for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System. These certifications recognize both entities’ efforts made to implement the two systems, and to spread the culture of environment protection, and abide by health and safety standards.
Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police, stressed the police leadership’s keenness to supporting the Ministry of Interior’s quality projects and providing the best services for its personnel and the public. Major General Badran added that the certifications will contribute to further enhancing the performance indicators, and attributed the achievement to the efforts exerted by staff members and their excellence in modernizing and developing work processes, as well as their creative ideas in advancing work systems and applications.
Major General Badran received two certificates from Major Dr. Saif Salem Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.
Major Dr. Al Nuaimi said, “The implementation of the Environment Management System and the Occupational Health and Safety System is consistent with the requirements of the Abu Dhabi government with respect to the implementation of the environment, sustainability, occupational health and safety systems, all of which reflect the police’s sense of responsibility towards environmental sustainability.”
Adding further, Major Dr. Al Nuaimi stressed the UAE Government’s commitment to providing high-quality living for the Emirati society, which embodies the Ministry of Interior’s strategy in providing distinguished services that are in accordance with international best standards, and in enhancing public confidence and customer satisfaction with the provided services.
In conclusion, he noted that the ISO certifications obtained by the Directorate General of Finance and Services constitute an achievement in efficiency, and was carried out according to the quality plan outlined by the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ). “This achievement was made possible due to the support of the police leadership, the efforts of the quality teams, and the dedication of all staff members,” he concluded.
