The meeting discussed ways and means of stepping up cooperation and sharing expertise between the RTA and its counterpart in Vietnam through signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two entities, besides reviewing road and infrastructure projects in Dubai as well as various transit means the RTA will be undertaking in the near future.
The Vietnamese Minister extended an invitation to Al Tayer to view the Vietnamese model in constructing roads and transport systems and identify the potential areas of mutual cooperation.
At the start of the meeting, Al Tayer welcomed the Vietnamese Minister and commended the partnership and cooperative relationships between the UAE and the Republic of Vietnam in various economic, business and service sectors.
“The Emirate of Dubai has become a hub for investments, business and various sorts of projects, thanks to its secure & safe environment as well as its extensive facilities and superb infrastructure that surpasses what many advanced cities worldwide can offer,” said Al Tayer.
RTA Chairman of the Board and Executive Director briefed the Vietnamese delegation on RTA’s efforts in undertaking roads and a variety of mass transit systems, besides the projects it is considering to roll out in future to keep pace with the upswing witnessed by Dubai Emirate and cater to the needs of hosting the World Expo 2020.
