Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, the Department of Economic Development in Dubai along with the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi will host the second cycle of the UAE Economic Outlook 2015 forum starting tomorrow at the Armani Hotel Dubai.
Senior goverment officials, decision-makers and renowned international and local experts including researchers, economists, business leaders and bankers will participate in the two-day forum, held 16-17 December. Participants will evaluate the economic prospects of the UAE in light of the future global economic outlook.
Discussions in the forum will be centred on four main themes –prospects for the global as well as regional economy in 2015, expectations of sectoral and overall growth in the UAE, ways to promote economic integration between the UAE and the world in 2015, international experiences in building a knowledge-based economy, and comparable practices in the UAE.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Economic Development Committee in Dubai, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman & Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and His Excellency Sultan Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy will deliver the keynote speeches on the opening day of the forum.
His Excellecny Ali Majed Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, said: “the forum has become an important platform to present key economic developments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and the UAE in general, especially in the context of ongoing development projects and strategic plans that leading to a quantum leap in the growth of the nation”.
“The UAE is keenly watched for its economic direction and the UAE Economic Outlook forum has become an important source to learn about the realities of the local economy and what is being achieved through our leadership and governance. The forum is also an important platform to promote the integration of economic visions at the federal and local levels in line with the public interest and larger aim of positioning the UAE among developed countries,” said Al Mansoori.
His Excellecny Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economic Development, said: "The presence of more than 300 senior officials from the public and private sectors at the event emphasises the importance of the forum, and its leading role in stimulating the march towards a knowledge-based economy. The participation of various sectors and businesses in this forum will highlight macro-economic opportunities, and provide initiatives with the main role in driving growth UAE and Dubai in particular”.
Al Qamzi added that the exchange of ideas and strategies between the public and private sectors and thre UAE will contribute towards more effective economic development plans in Dubai and enhance competitiveness at all levels in the emirate.
