The Police Follow-up Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, organized a lecture for taxi drivers to introduce them to the Federal Traffic Points Reduction Program. The lecture was held at the Emirates Taxi headquarters in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi.
Lieutenant Colonel Saif Obaid Al Khaili, Head of the Police Follow-up Department, said that the lectures aim to educate drivers and provide an opportunity for them to avoid having their driving licenses suspended. The lectures also aim to improve the behaviors of the drivers, remind them about the risks associated with committing violations that lead to the suspension of the driving license, and rehabilitate them through their participation in the program.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Khaili mentioned that permanent driving licenses are to be suspended for three months following the first traffic incidence, six months following the second traffic incidence, and for one year following the third incidence. Licenses will not be returned until the driver passes a training course.
Temporary driving licenses are to be suspended for six months following the first traffic incidence and will not be returned until the driver passes a training course.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Khaili encouraged the public to communicate with the call center - which receives calls and answers all inquiries via the direct number 600566006. The call center additionally registers those who wish to be enrolled in the Traffic Black Points Reduction Program, or who wish to restore their suspended driving licenses upon completing the requirements.
