MOI Provides Inmates Visit Request Service Via Its Smart Applications
(13 December 2014)

The Ministry of Interior recently added a new service allowing people to submit a request to visit inmates of the Punitive & Correctional Establishments across the country; via the ministry’s smart phones application (UAE MoI). The new service enables inmates’ families wishing to visit their loved ones to obtain the service quickly and easily in accordance with the smart government’s vision.

This application enables customers to access the service by following a set of steps, such as logging in information related to the inmate, following up on the request, ask to receive the visit time and date via a text message or by following up on the approval through the application.

Brigadier Hamad Adeel Al Shamesi, Director General of Correctional and Punitive Establishments at the Ministry of Interior, noted that the service aimed at organizing visits for inmates is one of the most important services provided by the ministry to both citizens and residents. He pointed out that the ministry has endeavored to transform this service into a smart service, as part of the federal government’s vision to save time and effort for members of the public and enable them to avail these services smoothly and easily without the hassle of visiting the Punitive and Correctional Establishments to submit a request for a visit. “Thanks to this advanced service, customers can easily submit a visit request or book an appointment wherever they are and within just a few seconds,” he continued.

Adding further, he confirmed that the Ministry of Interior strives continuously to develop and improve services to meet customer satisfaction, and enable them to obtain services easily. He indicated that the punitive establishments endeavor to keep pace with the latest smart services for the benefit of all customers.

The MoI called upon the public to communicate with the customer service center on 8005000 for any assistance, or communicate via email on: Mobile@moi.gov.ae  or via the e-services e-mail:  eservices@moi.gov.ae .
