A number of female students from the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in Abu Dhabi joined the Outreach Section at the Community Police Department to take part in the volunteering activities organized by the Department, to involve members of the public in community service efforts.
First Lieutenant Rashid Al Ashkhari, Community Outreach Branch Manager, noted that engaging the students in volunteer work is part of the outreach programs implemented by the Community Police Department at the Abu Dhabi Police to promote the concept “security is a collective responsibility”. “HCT female students’ participation falls within the university students’ programs, organized by the Community Police Department. These programs are also carried out through social media to promote interaction with the largest segment of society, in a bid to support the educational and volunteering process,” added First Lieutenant Al Ashkhari.
For his part, First Lieutenant Mubarak Al Khaili, Volunteering Branch Manager, stressed that participation of the Higher Colleges of Technology’s female students in the Abu Dhabi Police volunteer program, was at the students’ request in a bid to gain experience in the field of voluntary work, as well as community service skills, which are tracks included in the college’s scientific curricula.
