Tamouh Marks 43rd UAE National Day With Festive Fervor
(3 December 2014)

Abu Dhabi-based real estate developer Tamouh marked the 43rd UAE National Day with an array of entertaining community and family-oriented traditional and cultural activities.

Hundreds of families gathered at Reem Island’s Sea Walk Area, in Marina Square, on December 1 to take part in the evening’s festivities. The event was co-sponsored, organized and managed by Three60 Communities that has been managing the Marina Square community and bringing its residents together since inception.

Highlighting the importance of the celebrations, Joe Ong, Tamouh’s Managing Director, said: “The UAE National Day is a perfect opportunity for us to demonstrate Tamouh’s appreciation to the UAE and its people, as well as our commitment to the vision of its leaders. This year, Tamouh’s team is celebrating National Day together with the community of Marina Square, with their families and their friends, honoring the Spirit of the Union, sharing joyful festivities that reflect some of the UAE’s oldest traditions in arts and culture.”

Marina Square’s high rise buildings presented a contrasting modern backdrop to the UAE’s oldest cultural traditions that were part of the event’s agenda, such as a Bedouin tent, live Emirati cooking stations with traditional coffee and tea, Yolla traditional dancing, Burqa’a making, camel riding and falconry. To many of the expatriate residents of Marina Square, this contrast showcased how the UAE harmoniously preserves its traditional and cultural uniqueness even when it embarks on projects driven by innovation and geared towards its residents’ modern lifestyles.

The evening presented Marina Square’s families with cultural experiences such as live music and drum performances along with traditional folk dances, art and craft, and carnival games. The program also hosted a live performance by well-known Emirati singer Hussein Almazim as well as various Emirati artists, and the chance to capture snapshots of traditional Emirati activities and accessories at a photo booth.

A dedicated play area for kids with bouncing castles and sliding castles added to the excitement of children and kept them entertained throughout the day. The entertainment area also offered a carnival game booth, game areas, restaurants, refreshment booth and a candy stall.

The night was a successful celebration that brought together Marina Square’s residents, many of whom considered it a fitting example of the hospitality of the UAE’s leadership and people.
