The level of advancements achieved by the UAE in the national domain spectrum is very promising, particularly in supporting Arabic content on the Internet and promoting the spread of Arabic websites. And as we approach the World Arabic Language Day assigned by the United Nations on the 18th of December, I would like to stress that the TRA is working diligently to support Arabic content on the ICT network through a variety of initiatives and projects, most importantly the UAE national domain name, said H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General UAE mGovernment.
We reintroduce our call for local companies to register in the national .ae domain name and take advantage of the various benefits and flexibility that it continuously provides. Our role is to serve the internet community, drive the growth of the business sector, and optimize the use of the domain name. Moreover, with the increase in smart phone and smart devices penetration rates, we made sure to provide registration services via these smart platforms. We expect continued growth in the number of registrations due to the advantages of the national .ae domain name that attracts Internet users and the improved performance of accredited registrars, commented Mohammad Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director Policies and Program in the TRA.
"The UAE provides an advanced infrastructure for both ICT and business sectors and with the increasing number of companies registered under the national .ae domain name, the UAE has succeeded in establishing its leading position and reinforcing a unique digital presence on the web he added.
