Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, headed the UAE delegation to the 33rd meeting of the GCC Interior Ministers that was held today in Kuwait.

Upon his arrival to Kuwait International Airport in the Kuwaiti capital, Sheikh Saif was greeted by his counterpart His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait and a number of senior officers. During their meeting, both parties and their accompanying delegations exchanged sincere greetings and congratulations at the ministerial ceremonial hall.

Sheikh Saif, together with his brothers Their Highnesses and Their Excellencies the GCC ministers of interior, met HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait. HH Sheikh Saif and the participants also met Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwait Prime Minister at Bayan Palace.

During the consultative meeting, Their Highnesses and Their Excellencies the GCC ministers of interior discussed a number of topics related to enhancing security cooperation between the GCC countries, the security commissions’ recommendations and other mutual issues.  In his statement, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed commended the efforts of his Kuwaiti counterpart, as well as the great organization of the event and warm welcome. His Highness also lauded the brotherly efforts exerted by the GCC countries to promote and develop cooperation across all areas, in order to deliver more results that benefit the countries and people of the region.

His Highness Sheikh Saif was accompanied by a delegation that includes Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Resources and Support Services; Brigadier Mansour Ahmed Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Ministry’s Affairs; Brigadier Jumaa Ahmed Hamel Al Qubaisi; H.E Rahma Hussein Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Kuwait; along with a number of senior officers from the Ministry of Interior.
