The Media Department at the General Directorate of Civil Defense organized a diabetes awareness campaign under the slogan “My Health” (Sehhati). The campaign, tailored in cooperation and coordination with Al Ahli Hospital, was held at the directorate’s Abu Dhabi headquarters.
Officers, non-commissioned officers, constables, civilians and workers from the General Directorate of Civil Defense took part in the event, which marks the World Diabetes day. Attendees participating in the campaign underwent on-site medical screening tests, which included cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and body mass index tests.
Colonel Jassim Abdullah Humaid, Director General of Resources and Support Services, praised the valuable health awareness campaign. He stressed the importance of regular medical checks-ups, to ensure the safety and health of all staff members at the General Directorate of Civil Defense; in line with the Ministry of Interior’s health and safety policy requirements.
Towards the end of the campaign, Dr. Vebo Boss, Assistant Medical Director, and Umesh Chadran, Public Relations Officer at Al Ahli Hospital, extended their thanks to all staff members at the General Directorate of Civil Defense for the warm welcome and their fruitful and successful cooperation. Commemorative shields and gifts were then exchanged between both parties.
