The Abu Dhabi Media Summit today discussed the local content of the Middle East media during a discussion panel moderated by Shahid Khan, Co-founder and Chairman of Mediamorph. A number of media specialists and experts attended the discussion.
Rashed Al Harmoodi, the Emirati creator of the popular cartoon series Mansour, Deputy President for Corporate Communications at Mubadala, commenced the discussion by speaking about Mansour, a successful symbol of local content, noting that this experience succeeded because of its compatibility with the surrounding environment, society and the public.
Robert Knezevic, Senior Vice President, Sesame Street International, spoke about the Sesame Street programme viewed in 150 countries.
For his part, Sanjay Raina, General Manager of Fox International Channels Middle East, demonstrated experience of Fox channels at the Arab markets, and creation of a content that fits local viewers.
Gerhard Zeiler, President of Turner Broadcasting System International, spoke of future of TV, noting that the TV is enjoying its golden age given number of channels, contents and programmes.
