The Employees Performance Appraisal Department, Human Resources Directorate General, Ministry of Interior, organized two separate workshops to discuss instructions regarding Performance Appraisal for Police GHQs for 2014. The workshops were held at the ministry and at the Federal Police School in Sharjah.
Colonel Khalifa Mohammed Al Zaabi, Head of the Employees Performance Appraisal Department, at the Human Resources Directorate General, Ministry of Interior, emphasized the importance of such hands-on workshops to improve and upgrade work standards, while discussing instructions for employees’ performance appraisal across different sectors of the Ministry of Interior and the police general headquarters.
Lieutenant Khaled Ahmed Omar presented a paper addressing the instructions that should be included in the Performance Appraisal form. He also tackled the proper methods and conditions related to the performance appraisal process, and how to integrate appraisal in the e-system.
Lieutenant Omar said, “We need to amend any flaws in the Performance Appraisal e-system based on instructions of the department’s auditors. Appraisal indicators should be entered correctly in the required fields prior to submission of the e-form. Any instructions or memos issued by the Employees Performance Appraisal Department should be followed.” Lieutenant Omar also gave an overview about the grievances procedures regarding performance appraisals.
Towards the end of the workshops, the floor was opened for discussion and participants answered the audience’s queries.
The workshops were moderated by Major Dr. Mohammed Abdul Hameed Al Fahim, Chief of Employees Performance Appraisal Section and Lieutenant Khaled Ahmed Omar, Officers Reports Branch Manager.
