Held under the patronage of H.H. General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and organized by the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee (TDC), the Abu Dhabi Science Festival (ADSF) 2014 will open to the public on the 13th November with more exciting experiences than previous years. The enhanced schedule of events includes content activities sponsored by preeminent companies in the region, appealing to even more students, teachers and families from across the UAE.

2014 marks a milestone in the Festival's history as for the first time, the event will be running for ten consecutive days in three fixed locations on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, Al Ain Zoo and Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah, allowing even more of the UAE community the opportunity to be inspired by the wonders of science. Designed to appeal to our nation's youth to learn more about science and follow a career in Science Technology and Innovation (STI) related subjects, the schedule of amazing activities is only made only made possible by the support of both distinguished providers introducing exciting local scientific content as well as the sponsored content partners.
In Abu Dhabi, for all engine designers in the making, Tawazun brings visitors Mini Mechanics, providing a closer look at what makes an engine tick whereas in Flight Academy brought to you by ETIHAD, children can get a chance to see what it's like to be an aircraft engineer. Energy enthusiasts can discover the origins of oil and build a mock oil rig in ADNOC's Fuel Hunters or journey into the world of nuclear fission, with Power It Up! brought to you by Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation. Finally, in the Secret Life of Coral brought to you by Dolphin Energy Festival attendees can find out more about the incredible animals and plants that live in a Coral Reef.
Al Ain Zoo has two exciting sponsored activities where the family can drop in any time to take part: Tawazun's Compressed Air Rockets allows you to take your first step towards becoming an astronaut by designing and building your own compressed air rocket and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation's Elec-tricks! offers first hand examples into the incredible power of electricity.
Finally, Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah will stimulate young minds with their Automata Workshop brought to you by Tawazun and Gadget Factory brought to you by Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation allowing them to create their own mechanical toys and electronic gadgets respectively.
