The Emirates Photography Competition, organised by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, has announced the programme and activities of its fourth edition, which is held during February and March 2009.
The competition programme includes: First: February 1. Meeting of the jury panel of the Emirates Photography Competition’s fourth edition on February 1-4, 2009.
2. Press conference and discussion of members of the jury with the participants and media representatives on February 3, 2009 in the Ibn Majid Cultural Foundation at 6pm.
3. A lecture to the public and photographers during which the international artist Steve McCurry tells his personal experience in the world of photography in Bainouna Hall at the Cultural Foundation on February 3, 2009 at 7pm.
4. The start of the photography workshop presented by the renowned photographer Steve McCurry for five days on February 4-8, 2009.
5. Gulf photographic evenings, including slide show presentations for the most important photographic experiences of work of artists from the Gulf states who are taking part in the jury panel of the Emirates Photography Competition 2009.
The closing ceremony of the workshop and handover of certificates to the participants, including a presentation of the most important works produced in the workshop will be held on February 8, 2009.
