AAA (UAE Accountants and Auditors Association) and ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) are pleased to announce their new national chartered accountancy qualification in the UAE to coincide with the UAE National Flag Day and the day that H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan became president of the nation a decade ago. The UAE Minister of the Economy, His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri attended the launch event at the Armani Hotel Dubai, to applaud this significant step towards developing the UAE as a leading financial services centre globally and the national accountancy profession in the region.
United Arab Emirates Chartered Accountant (UAECA) has ACCA qualification as its basis and provides a unique opportunity to the UAE nationals and residents to get a globally and locally relevant qualification.
The ACCA-AAA partnership will provide a dual-branded, internationally recognised, IFAC (International Federation of Accountants) compliant route to membership of both AAA and ACCA which will give accountancy students and professionals an opportunity to gain increased prestige and recognition
Stuart Dunlop, regional director, MENASA – ACCA said: “This unique partnership between ACCA and AAA will give students access to a national qualification making their skills and knowledge globally and locally relevant. Once qualified as an ACCA member, they will also be eligible to apply for membership to AAA, meaning they can use the titles ACCA and UAECA after their names. And because this partnership supports the government’s initiative to develop the accountancy and finance profession, they will benefit from enhanced career opportunities as more employers and stakeholders choose to work with us in the future.
“This is all a part of AAA’s aim to have 100 national chartered accountants in the UAE by 2021, as there is growing demand for the accountancy profession in the Emirati states.”
Saif bin Abed Al Muhairi, Chairman of AAA commented: “We are confident that UAECA will be the ambition of young Emiratis who would like to be the future leaders in the finance field.'
Ahmad Darwish, Board Member and Secretary General of AAA said: 'The UAECA will create new opportunities for future generations of Emiratis, enabling the UAE to further establish itself as a leading financial services hub with highly qualified, globally aware finance professionals.”
