Together with the police teams, all community activities will take part in the morning activities accompany the sports competitions for school students.

In a meeting, which was held at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) and chaired by Mohammed Saeed Al Marri, Deputy Chairman of the Police Sports Association, the board discussed the agenda that included the approval of the minutes from the previous meeting. The meeting was attended by board members.

The board discussed a course to qualify tactical shooting trainers, which was organized by the association in cooperation with the Special Security Forces headquarters and the Training Department from 12 Sept., until 2 Oct., 2014 in Murbah.  The board additionally discussed the report of Al Fujairah Security Zone’s first sports week, which was held in cooperation with Al Fujairah Police GHQ. The board also reviewed the memoranda of understanding between the Sharjah and Dubai sports associations.

The board reviewed a number of other activities, such as: the second sports week, which was held in cooperation with the Ajman Police GHQ from 9-13 Nov., 2014; the Athletics Trainers Course- the first international level, held in cooperation with the Leadership Development Center in Dubai,  the international regional center for athletics in the Middle East, and the International Association of Athletics Federations from 15-24 Nov.,2014; the Police Road Race No. 38 in Fujairah on  26 Nov., 2014; the Sports Week in Umm Al Quwain, which will be held in cooperation with Umm Al Quwain Police GHQ from 14-18 Dec., 2014; and the Police Olympic Rowing Championship on 23-24 Dec., 2014 in Umm Al Quwain.

The board, which approved the technical and administrative report of the Police Swimming Championship, praised the increase in participants compared to last year, after the board’s decision to limit participation to one race was enforced. This allowed the opportunity for more participation and increased competitiveness for the championship medals. A strong competition was demonstrated between the Abu Dhabi Police and the Dubai Police for the championship title. The board also decided to form a Technical Committee to develop swimming competitions, in cooperation with the Technical Committee of the UAE Swimming Federation.

Furthermore, the board decided to extend their gratitude to the Special Security Forces Headquarters for their contribution to the success of the event, and for their participation, together with the Police Sports Association, in organizing the course to qualify tactical shooting trainers and enabling national talents to specialize in this type of shooting. Fourteen trainers took part in this course in order to qualify for a position that would allow them to train police GHQ teams that will participate in the official championship next February.

The board also commended the efforts that helped bring success to the Al Fujairah Security Zone’s first sports week. This event was created by the board to promote sports among police members across all of the emirates. The board expressed its happiness for the success of the first sports week, which is the first of a seven week-long series throughout the year, organized with each police GHQ. In this regard, the board extended their gratitude to Al Fujairah Police Commander-in-Chief for hosting the first week, and for participating, together with all heads of departments and chiefs of sections in these activities. Their efforts helped to draw more participation from the security zone members, most particularly women. A high-volume of participants and age groups took part in the race-walking and running competitions. Participants competed in 19 activities, while committee members from the headquarters excelled in managing and organizing the activities. The board also extended their gratitude to Colonel Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, head of the committee, for his significant efforts towards a successful event.
