Culture and Co the French bookstore of the Emirates has announced the opening of its new branch in Abu Dhabi, located within the premises of the French Alliance in the Capital.
“The step comes within our expansion strategy to develop across the Emirates in order to be closer to our customers” Said Renata Sader, the owner of the Bookshop. “It was planned since our opening in Dubai two years earlier and is being implemented, despite the economic slowdown” she added.
“We strongly believe that the Capital has been and will be the ground for several cultural activities and landmarks, most of which are also related to the French culture and heritage” she continued.
“The presence of Culture and Co within the French alliance site is a natural place to be, due to our strong partnership with the Bookstore and the transmission of the French culture and lifestyle we both promote”, commented Leila Kernoua, Director of the French Alliance in Abu Dhabi. We will be holding a series of cultural activities throughout the year and hope to attract all the French speaking community in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain of course but also from the whole Emirates” she continued.
The bookstore will be offering French books and educational material, targeting a wide range of readers with a choice to satisfy all needs and age segment. Parents will also be able to order specific books for their schooled kids as well as educational material for people wanting to learn French.
“It is our objective to participate and promote major cultural activities related to books – we will be participating at Abu Dhabi’s Book Fair in March in partnership with the BIEF (the International Agency of the French Book Publishing Industry) for the second consecutive year – introducing the public to new releases and encouraging them to find out more about the wide range and quality of publishing in France - as well as inviting world known writers and poets and conducting specific conferences on current topics” Sader concluded.
