MOI Wins 14 Stevie Awards

The Ministry of Interior earned a lion’s share of the honors by winning 14 Stevie awards at the 2014 11th Annual International Business Awards held in Paris. The Stevie Awards are the world's premier business awards, recognizing innovation, corporate excellence and international business. Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at the Abu Dhabi, was the Gold Stevie Winner in the “Information Technology Executive of the Year” category.

Brigadier Sultan Yusuf Al Nuaimi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Ras al Khaimah ranked third in the “the Customer Service Department” and “Executive of the year 2014” categories. Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police ranked third in the “Human Resources Executive of the Year” category.

This win reinforces the Ministry’s position in the Global Competitiveness Index, and contributes to preserving security and stability gains, and advancing prosperity and development in the Ministry of Interior’s various sectors.

The awards were as follows:

The Directorate General of Electronics and Telecommunications Services ranked first and won the Gold Stevie Award for the “Best Electronic Department”, while the Technical Support Department at the Directorate General of the Electronics and Telecommunications Services ranked third and obtained the Bronze Stevie Award for the “Best Technical Support Department”. The Technical Support Department team ranked third and won the Bronze Stevie Awards for the “Best Technical Support Team”.

The Abu Dhabi Police ranked second and obtained the Silver Stevie Award for the “Non-Profit Government Organization – Public Relations” category. The UAE Embassy’s Police Attaché Office in Washington DC, USA ranked second and won the Silver Stevie Award for the “Best Administrative Team and Government Organization”. The UAE Embassy’s Police Attaché Office in Washington DC, USA also ranked third and won the Bronze Stevie Award for the “Public Relations – Non-profit Organizations” category;  it also achieved third place, winning the Bronze Stevie Award for the “Best Customer Service Department”. The UAE Embassy’s Police Attaché Office in London, United Kingdom ranked first and won the Gold Stevie Award for the “Best Support Team” and ranked second, winning the Silver Stevie Award for the “Best Management Team”.

The awards were presented during a gala banquet in France, in the presence of international institutions and executives who won the prestigious global award. It is worth mentioning that the 2014 IBAs received entries from organizations, major companies and factories in more than 50 countries, with more than 3,500 nominations submitted for consideration in the wide range of categories.

The awards ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Interior, headed by Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police. The delegation also included Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Salah Ahmed Mireich; Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Salem Mawla; Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Shaiban Al Rih; and Major Salem Abdullah Saqr.
