Etihad Cargo Loyalty Program Enrols Its 3,000th Member
(15 October 2014)

CargoConnect, the web-based loyalty program from Etihad Cargo has celebrated a major milestone with the enrollment of its 3,000th member since the program was launched in July 2013.

To mark this milestone, Etihad Cargo will present the lucky customer with two Business Class tickets to any destination on Etihad Airways’ global network.

Based upon the same platform as Etihad Airways’ award-winning loyalty program, Etihad Guest, CargoConnect, is targeted at the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) segment of the global cargo market, and designed to recognise and reward companies for every booking made with the UAE cargo operator.

The program allows CargoConnect members to earn Etihad Guest Miles for net revenue paid on Etihad Cargo. Benefits include being able to redeem miles for flights across Etihad Airways’ network, ticket upgrades, lounge access, or purchases from the Etihad Guest Rewards Shop, which features more than 6,000 reward items.

Kevin Knight, Etihad Airways Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, said: “Etihad Cargo aims to provide its loyal customers with exceptional services and benefits. The tremendous support we have received from the cargo trade community since we launched CargoConnect last year has been remarkable, and a significant factor in making this program one of the leading loyalty programs within the global cargo industry.”

Members of CargoConnect earn one Etihad Guest Mile for every US$2 net revenue paid as general cargo, and four Etihad Guest Miles for every US$2 net revenue paid as premium cargo.

Etihad Cargo currently operates a fleet of 10 dedicated cargo aircraft that fly on scheduled services to 25 of the airline’s passenger destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. The airline also operates to 12 freighter-only destinations that include: Chittagong, Djibouti, Dubai World Central, Eldoret, Guangzhou, Hanoi, Houston, Kabul, Miami, Quito, Sharjah and Viracopos.

Etihad Cargo remains on track to become a billion dollar business in 2014, having transported almost 415,000 tonnes of cargo between January and September 2014.
