Abu Dhabi to Host 12th Annual POWER-GEN Middle East

Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre has completed final preparations to host POWER-GEN Middle East 2014. The three-day event will open on October 12 and is expected to draw the participation of 150 companies and more than 4,000 visitors and delegates from over 60 countries. The attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet and engage with leading professionals, in addition to gaining an exclusive look at the latest developments in innovation in the power industry and water conservation.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Acting Group CEO, said: “This event comes at a time of a growing local and regional interest in the power industry, a sector that has a significant economic impact on the growth of production and investment in the UAE. The presence of global experts and leading decision makers at ADNEC reinforces our commitment to the sustainable development of this key industry. We look forward to hosting this dialogue in Abu Dhabi, as a part of the capital emirate’s plan of increasing energy capacity on par with the highest international standards.”

He added: “ADNEC is proud to bring the event back to Abu Dhabi. As the leading exhibition and conference centre in the region, ADNEC will provide the conference and concurrent exhibition organizers with comprehensive support that reflects the centre’s capabilities to offer world-class solutions in terms of management, logistics and service facilities.”

Al Dhaheri expressed his appreciation for the continuing support of the Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau in expanding the scope of participation at the latest edition of the event. POWER-GEN Middle East 2014 will bring together leading local and international power professionals, and key industry buyers from around the globe. Participating companies will showcase cutting edge equipment including power generators, innovative technologies and solutions used in water conservation and sea water desalination.

The upcoming quarter is set to be a busy one for ADNEC, with numerous conferences and exhibitions set to take place, including ADIPEC – ranked amongst the top three oil and gas events in the world. The event is expected to attract over 60,000 oil and gas professionals and over 1,800 exhibiting companies and will feature its largest conference to date. Held under the theme of 'Challenges and Opportunities for the Next 30 Years’ – the conference will provide a first-rate platform for exchanging knowledge

In November, ADNEC will also host SIAL Middle East, the leading food and beverage event, which has carved a niche among major international events held in the region. A strong presence of local and international companies in food and beverage industry is expected in the exhibition. The event will attract thousands of visitors including hotel managers and leading purchasers of food and beverages. In addition over 1,000 local, regional and international companies will be showcasing their products in dedicated international pavilions.

The Najah Career Fair, a leading event specialized showcasing latest innovations in education, is also set to run from 28-30 October. The fair will invite leading companies and universities looking to recruit young Emirati professionals.
