Western Region Police Prepare For Eid Al-Adha
(3 October 2014)

The Western Region Police Directorate announced that preparations have been made for the upcoming Eid Al-Adha holidays, and the return of pilgrims travelling by land. The directorate has also intensified its efforts to ensure that everyone enjoys an accident-free holiday by establishing a comprehensive plan for the benefit of all. As per the plan, police and security patrols will be intensified on all roads, to provide distinguished services to the public and interact with the different social categories at the various public locations.  The plan also aims at enhancing awareness of community members in an effort to prevent potential dangers they may encounter during Eid, and embodies the Abu Dhabi Police strategy within the ‘Your Safety’ Campaign.

Colonel Ojeil Ali Abdullah Al Junaibi, Director of the Western Region Police Directorate said, "The directorate strives to take part in such festive occasions to highlight the valuable service and social role undertaken by the various police bodies to ensure that everyone enjoys an accident-free and peaceful holiday. This would increase public confidence in the services provided by the police," he added.

Colonel Al Junaibi urged parents and care-takers to keep an eye on children especially in parks and recreational areas, in a bid to ensure their safety from potential accidents, which could mar the joy of the blessed occasion.

In conclusion, Colonel Al Junaibi called upon land travelers to abide by legal speed limits designated on roads during their trip, to undertake full check-up and maintenance of their vehicle, and ascertain the tires' ability to withstand long distances prior to starting their journey. He also urged travelers to take some rest and refrain from driving while exhausted or fatigued. He also wished everyone a safe journey and a happy Eid Al Adha holiday.
