To mark Eid Al Adha, the Al Ain Police Officers Club organized a celebration, with the participation of children from Al Taweelah and Al Dhafra private kindergartens, and Al Reefa’a Primary Education School. The ceremony was attended by Colonel Abdullah Al Shamesi, Director of Al Maqam Police Station, and a number of officers and parents.

The ceremony started with the national anthem, followed by verses from the Holy Quran recited by student Shama Al Niyadi from Al Dhafra private school. In a speech delivered on his behalf by Captain Abdullah Al Tawir Al Ameri from Al Ain Police, Colonel Hareb Khamis Al Khaili, Deputy Head of the Clubs Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, to communicate and interact with different sectors of society. “The ministry dedicates considerable attention to the human cadre, being the main component for any activity and the focus of comprehensive development efforts,” said Colonel Al Khaili.

He added, “We are gathered here today to mark a blessed occasion that we await year after year, Eid Al Adha. It returns every year with renewed happiness, when the voice of pilgrims reciting the “Takbir” (Allah is greatest, Allah is the greatest, All praise is due to Allah) resonates across Makkah”. Furthermore, he underlined the importance of this auspicious joyous occasion in the history of the Islamic nation, and the need to inculcate the Hajj and Umrah rituals in the spirit of the young generation, praising the efforts of all those who contributed to the organization of this celebration.

The ceremony featured several programs, including a welcome song presented by the Taweelah Kindergarten’s children and a segment on the Hajj Rituals. Student Ahmed Al Shamesi from Al Ain Centre for Care and Rehabilitation recited a congratulatory poem on the advent of Eid Al Adha. Al Reefa’a Primary Education School’s students also presented an expressive song on the occasion. Al Dhafra private school students performed the “Youlah” and “Naashat” folk dances which were highly acclaimed by the audience.

Towards the end of the ceremony, Colonel Al Shamesi honored the participants. Ceremonial photographs were taken. Moreover, a charity exhibition was organized on the sidelines of the ceremony; the proceeds of the fund-raising to benefit Dar Zayed Family Care.
