Major General Mohammed Khalfan Matar Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, Member of the Executive Council, President of Police Sports Union; extended his heartfelt congratulations and blessings to: His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; their brothers, their Highnesses, Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates; Crown Princes; and to the UAE citizens and residents, on the occasion of the victory of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, as champion of the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) that took place recently in Normandy, France. It is noteworthy that H.H. Sheikh Hamdan earned the gold medal in the individual championship which drew 173 of the finest riders from 47 countries around the world.
Major General Al Rumaithi stressed that this historic achievement is the product of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan’s tremendous efforts, continuous work, and his unwavering and fierce determination. “H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is a role model for young people and he exemplifies what it means to achieve aspirations in any field,” said Major General Al Rumaithi.
Adding further, Major General Al Rumaithi said that this superior achievement is to be added to the UAE’s already decorated record of historical achievements and first place ranks in various forms of sport- which are mostly equestrian. He also pointed out that this accomplishment embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and exemplifies his mantra: “UAE riders have become a hard figure, as is the case for the achievements gained by the UAE.”
Major General Al Rumaithi emphasized that H.H. the Crown Prince of Dubai is following in the footsteps of the higher leadership by earning the reward of a high position. He also pointed out that this achievement is significant motivation for all athletes to reach the highest levels of success and access the top ranks.
