The UAE submitted today a set of proposals to the Islamic parliaments meeting on humanitarian responsibility of the international community towards the killing and severe punishment meted out by the lethal Israeli war machine against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip.

A UAE delegation led by First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council Ahmed Shabib Al Dhahiri presented the overture to the extraordinary meeting of the Parliamentary Union of member states of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (PUOICM) on Gaza which opened here today.

Al Dhahiri said the UAE delegation had asked the OIC to refer the ’Union for Peace’ blueprint to the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) so as each one of them carry out its duty towards the Israeli barbarism against the defenseless innocent Palestinian people in Gaza.

The UAE official hoped the Istanbul declaration which will be issued at the end of the meeting will reinforce joint action by PUOICM on the situation in Gaza.

He hailed the Turkish MPs who resigned from the Turkish-Israeli Parliamentary Friendship Society in solidarity with the people of Gaza who are facing crimes of genocide at the hands of the Zionist forces.
