The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters will conclude its educational sessions on 4 Sept., 2014. These educational sessions aim to spread the concept of anti-human trafficking among all of the members in the Western Region Police Directorate.
Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, stressed the fact that the organization of these sessions embodies the keenness of ADP GHQ to raise awareness for their staff about the preventative procedures and methods of human trafficking.
Colonel Dr. Borshid said, “These sessions aim to shed light on the crimes related to human trafficking and the organ trade, and the role of the UAE in handling these crimes. The sessions also cover the practical procedures, domestic and international statistics of human trafficking, efforts made by the local authorities against trafficking human beings; and relevant legislation that has been established in this regard, which includes Law No. 51 for the year 2006 on trafficking human beings.”
It is worth mentioning that the sessions’ programs focus on the definition of human trafficking, its relevant forms and methods; and the relevant laws, regulations, international conventions, and policies adopted to prevent the crime. The sessions target the largest number of policemen and security staff, who are the first to receive such sessions on criminal trafficking.
