The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Public Relations Section, organized a set of educational programs for children of the Petroleum Institute’s employees in Abu Dhabi. These programs are part of the summer camp activities organized by the Petroleum Institute (PI) for employees’ children, in collaboration with strategic partners, and aim at strengthening and promoting the traffic safety culture.
The programs included lectures as well as theoretical and practical activities highlighting the risks of jumping the red light. Children were also trained on the optimal ways of crossing the street at intersections, the traffic lights, the different pedestrian lights, and the risks of crossing the road in case the traffic signal didn’t turn red and the vehicles didn’t come to a complete stop.
As part of the awareness-raising program, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate held a number of traffic-related competitions and distributed prizes and commemorative gifts to the children.
It is worth mentioning that the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate organize numerous traffic awareness programs throughout the year at the various educational institutions and different stages of education. The directorate is also committed to conducting periodic traffic awareness campaigns to enhance the traffic safety culture among community members.
