A nation-wide telethon to raise funds in support of Palestinian people in Gaza got underway this afternoon.
The live TV and radio campaign, which started at 2:00 local timem, has so far raised Dh 109.1 million.
The ’Relief the Palestinian People’ fund-raising telethon is being staged in implementation of instructions by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and H.H. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The charity drive in solidarity with the Gazans was earlier launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA).
