The Operations Department at the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate concluded the sports competitions organized as part of their First Ramadan Tournament on Monday evening. The closing event included football competitions, volleyball competitions, tug of war, and the civil defense firefighters’ challenge. 12 teams took part in the football competitions, five teams in the volleyball competitions, five teams in the tug of war competitions. Moreover, a total of 12 participants took part in the civil defense firefighters’ challenge.
Colonel Juma Salem Al Dahmani, Acting Director of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, honored the Al Musaffah Civil Defense station team, crowned as champion of the Football Tournament after defeating the Al Shamkha Civil Defense station team (3-0). The BaniYasCivil Defense station team came in third place.
In the volleyball competitions, the BaniYas Civil Defense station team ranked first, while the Al Musaffah 33 Civil Defense station team ranked second. In the Tug of War competition, the Al Bateen Team ranked first, followed by the Al Qubesat Team in second place. In the civil defense firefighters’ challenge, firefighter Andreh from the Operations Department achieved the top position, followed by RonyQabiusfrom the BaniYas unit in second place; while Abdul Karim AlHarithi of the Al Mussafah 33 Civil Defense station ranked third.
Colonel Al Dahmanidistributed the trophies and medals to the winning teams. The closing ceremony was attended by Colonel Abdullah Rashid Al Zaabi, Head of Strategy and Performance Development at the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate; Colonel Jassim Hamid, from the Civil Defense General Headquarters (GHQ); Lt. Colonel Hamad Saeed Al Riyami, Director of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Stations Department; Lieutenant Colonel Tariq Saleh Al Shareef, Head of Operations Department; and a number of officers, non-commissioned officers, and constables from the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate.
