Aldar Properties PJSC ("Aldar" or "the Company" ADX: ALDAR), Abu Dhabi's leading listed property development, investment and management company, yesterdayheld an event for over 2,000 workersfrom Six Construct, the main contractor company responsible for the Yas Mall build. The celebration took place in the Town Square, the heart of Yas Mall that will become a hub for community gatherings and a number of unique events.

Hosted by Mohammed Al Mubarak, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Aldar, the event celebrated the achievements and valued efforts of the workers during the construction of Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi’s first super-regional mall and the important final retail component of Yas Island.

Al Mubarak commented: “We are very proud of what has been achieved in constructing Yas Mall, none of which would have been possible without the tireless contribution of the workers. I would like to thank every person who was part of this success, and I invite you all to keep up the momentum for what is expected to change the retail landscape in the region, and will mark out Yas Island as a premier leisure destination.”

A representative from the Ministry of Labour attended the event that was held with support from Etisalat, who offered giveaways to guests, reflecting the spirit of approaching the holy month. The event was a true reflection of the responsibility and commitment Aldar shows its staff at all levels.

Yas Mall,due to open in November this year, will offer an exciting range of leading international and regional retail and F&B brands, a 20 screen state-of-the-art cinema operated by VOX Cinemas and a family entertainment zone by Funworks. With the completion of Yas Mall, Aldar will become the largest owner and manager of retail space in Abu Dhabi.

Yas Island is situated roughly 10 minutes from the Abu Dhabi International Airport and 20 minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi, making it an attractive and accessible destination for both residents and tourists. A selection of seven hotels can be found on the island including the luxurious Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, as well as a range of top attractions comprising: Yas Marina Circuit; Yas Marina; Ferrari World Abu Dhabi; Yas Water World; Yas Links Golf Course; and Yas Retail Park which includes IKEA and Ace Hardware.
