On the evening of June 18th, 2014, Aldar Academies’ proudly presented Musical Celebration – A Journey across the World. The 600-student charity concert was held in honour of Special Care Centre in Abu Dhabi and was hosted at the Emirates Palace Theatre. Aldar Academies’ students raised a total of 131,710 including an AED 100,000 donation from Aldar. This event sought to help the Special Care Centre reach its goal of raising AED 25 million to build a new centre in Al Bahia for 400 children. In attendance were Mr. Mohammed Al Mubarak, Chairman of Aldar Academies, Nilay Ozral, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar Academies and over a thousand many proud parents of the students.
Showcasing the talents in different musical styles including Arabic, Samba, Pop, and Jazz, the students performed music and cultural performances from countries around the globe including the UAE National Anthem and Military march as well cultural performances including a Nabati poem, Watani and Biladuna; instrumental music titled Captain Jack’s Hornpipe and Shark Attack; classic film medleys from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Les Miserables; and also recent pop favourites including Pharell William’s Happy and Katy Perry’s Roar.
