HE Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs led the UAE delegation during the summit of the Group of 77 and China, where HE met with HE Heraldo Muñoz, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile.
Chile’s Minister of Foreign Affairs received a special invitation to meet with the participating UAE delegation in order to discuss the latest developments and to progress bilateral relations between the two parties.
The two parties discussed several topics of common interest including the outcomes of the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s visit to Chile and the agreement signed during his previous visit. The meeting also addressed the various elements of the summit of the Group of 77 and China, how to fight against poverty, climate change and the global development agenda beyond 2015, in addition to strengthening South-South cooperation.
HE Obaid Humaid Al Tayer and his delegation also met with HE Hector Timmerman, the Argentinian Minister of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the results of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s visit to the country and discussed ways to improve joint economic and trade relations. The Ministers also reviewed the outcomes of the last round of negotiations on the avoidance of double taxation agreement. Furthermore, HE Al Tayer met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Costa Rica, where the two parties discussed economic, financial and trade relations between the two countries.
