Aldar Academies Hits The High Notes For Musical Charity Night
(15 June 2014)

Aldar Academies, Abu Dhabi’s leading institution for world-class education proudly presents a musical Celebration, ‘A Journey across the World – From Abu Dhabi and Back’. The charity event, hosted in honour of the children’s Special Care Centre in Abu Dhabi will take place at the Emirates Palace Theatre on Wednesday 18th June from 6pm – 8pm. This event will seek to help the Special Care Centre reach its goal of raising AED 25 million to build a new centre in Al Bahia for 400 children.

The event will feature over 600 talented pupils from Aldar Academies’ schools, who will perform songs including the UAE National Anthem; cultural performances including a Nabati poem, Watani and Biladuna; instrumental music titled Captain Jack’s Hornpipe and Shark Attack; classic film medleys from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Les Miserables; and also recent pop favourites including Pharell William’s Happy and Katy Perry’s Roar. Demonstrating the diversity and talent of the school, these students will showcase a number of different musical styles including Emirati, Samba, Pop, and Jazz.

Nilay Ozral, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar Academies commented, “At Aldar academies we are dedicated to providing a world-class education through various teaching methods including an understanding of the world through music, arts and culture. We seek to bridge cultural divides through the use of music, arts and culture and this event is a testimony of our commitment to broadening our student’s horizons and providing them with an understanding of different cultures.”

“We are proud to see our students use skills learnt in school to raise funds for Abu Dhabi’s Special Care Centre. We hope that our students, through their talents, continue to contribute to the creation of a better future for society,” she added.

“The Special Care Centre is committed to establishing bigger and better facilities for children in Abu Dhabi. We are proud to see students in the Emirates use their talents to help special needs children. We are grateful for their support and we hope to reach our goal of AED 25 million to build the new centre in Al Bahia,” said Kmar Cherif, Executive Coordinator, Events Manager at the Special Care Centre.

Aldar Academies' schools programmes are developed based on current educational research, which ensures students are prepared to enter the work force as contributing members of society. Programmes are regularly reviewed, developed and adapted taking into consideration the future generation’s role in an ever-changing world, connected by new technology.

Instrumental tuition offers children, and adults, numerous benefits. Researchers have found evidence that music lessons help children improve their language skills, boost memory abilities and improve their behaviour and intelligence.
