Royal Moscow Ballet’s Desert Arabesque

The silence of Abu Dhabi’s expansive Al Khatem desert was the backdrop for an impromptu rehearsal by acclaimed Royal Moscow Ballet leads LiudmilaTitovaand Vadim Lolenkoas they took to the crest of a towering dune near the Arabian Nights Village to perform the classical Arabesque posein one of their most unusual settings to date.

In the UAE capital in a run of 14 performances of ‘Cinderella’ as the curtain raiser of the Abu Dhabi Summer Season, the two stars were supported by musicians from The Royal Moscow Orchestra which is accompanying the fairy tale shows at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

“This is a fairy tale setting to demonstrate the beauty of ballet,” said LiudmilaTitova, who takes the Cinderella lead. “It is a memory that will stay with me forever.”

Titovaand her Royal Moscow Ballet co-star Vadim Lolenko– who portrays the fairy tale Prince – are part of a 70-strong ballet, orchestra and artistic troupe which is wowing audiences during Abu Dhabi Summer Season, a product of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and key stakeholders.
